For Earth Day, we....Me, Mom, Karen, Patti and Kim, were going to go kayaking down the Colorado! Sounds fun huh? Well it would have been a blast, but because of all the rain that we've been getting, the river was running too fast to kayak. We didn't learn about this news until we were minutes from pulling into the place. They did have a festival going on, so we decided to stay and shop and enjoy the crummy weather. Things weren't too bad actually... We bought some jewelry, pottery, rain buckets, and soaps.... but we ALL did the kids arts and crafts tables. It was so much fun.We painted fish, made necklaces out of tree bark, touched snakes and alligators,and even learned how to clean a duck if it were to be put in dirty/oily water.
After that we went to Cindy's to enjoy the rain, good food, good beer, and GREAT company. Even though someone rained on our parade....we made the most of it! And.....we get to make up our kayaking session! They have a moonlight kayak session that sounds great! Yes, every full moon of the month, they take a group of kayakers down the river for some fun romance! Sounds devine!
Remember, we were dressed to go kayaking.... not to pose for pictures.
