Flight was supposed to leave at 5:50... But there was a "mechanical problem" so we were told to wait for another plane. They then estimated the departure time at 6:30. However as soon as this plane arrived, they said this freaking plane had "mechanical issues" as well. A chubby man with a shirt that showed his mid-drift came over with a screw driver. Yes, a screw driver. He opened a piece of the plane and began "working". After an hour or so, they said there was an oil leak. It was now 8pm and we were finally on our 4 hour flight. I spoke with Aurelio and he really didn't want us to get on this plane. He was scared that it really wasn't fixed. I told him I loved him and that if something were to go down...ie the plane....then he'd get a lot of money to pay off everything and live comfortably for awhile. (he didn't find this funny). I had to give him a hard time because he was at happy hour with a friend and I was stuck in an airport with 3 year old twins and a three month old baby.
We were the first to board so that was super nice. We were in the very last row on the plane. We loaded up the boys car seats onto the seats of the plane and prepared for snacks and iPad entertainment.
I've never flown west, so I didn't realize that we are pretty much stuck in time. We left at sunset, and we arrived at sunset. The entire plane ride was a beautiful sunset. :) loved it! The boys were AWESOME as usual...ate snacks, watched 2 Curious George Movies and a Toy Story movie, and only fell asleep for the last 20 min of the flight. (of course). But...again, they were Awesome!!! One mother brought her crying baby with a squeaky toy. Really lady. With the sound of your babies cry mixed with the sound of a neurotic dog chewing on a squeaky toy...it make me wanna jump out of this plane.
When arriving on Seattle, the pilot said it's a "brisk 50 degrees". Eekk, I think the lowest it's gotten in Austin was 75 at night....
Auntie Annie arranged for a limo to pick us up from the airport... Thanks Auntie Annie! We got to our hotel, the Westin, and headed up to the 27th floor, got situated, and headed for bed.
